The Medical Marijuana Market In Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania state residents became eligible for medical marijuana usage in 2016 when the medical cannabis laws were passed in 2016. These laws were signed by Governor Tom Wolf. These laws allow for non-smokable cannabis products to be sold only by operators that are state-licensed. The market was officially opened in February of 2018.

The legality of usage guidelines adjusted in August of 2018 when the state allowed the sale of cannabis flower. This was done due to overwhelming feedback from patients in the state. The actual smoking of the flower is illegal, so patients receive their dosage via a dry herb vaporizer.

A dry herb vaporizer heats up the herb just enough to release the cannabinoids without combusting the plant matter. This reduces tar and other bad compounds, and some doctors feel that this is a safer alternative to smoking, but it still comes with risk so you should talk to your doctor about the risks of this option, especially if you have lung disease.

More About Pennsylvania

Pennsylvania neighbors the northeast states of Maryland, Delaware, West Virginia, New York, New Jersey and Ohio. Its capital is the city of Harrisburg, a city rich in history and American culture. It also is home to two major northeast cities, Philadelphia and Pittsburgh.

Currently, many visitors still frequent the state to experience its roots in Quaker, Amish, and Mennonite culture which date back to its days as one of the original colonies.
